France - Nice and Monaco

Hello!

Today I am going to take you through my trip to Nice, France with a quick stop in Monaco! We went with the Disney cruise line, and used their tour services so we knew we were getting the best tour possible, and a real taste of France. We were actually there on Bastille Day, you could tell from the energy that people were excited and celebrating (its their 4th of July).

Our first stop was the Nice market. I got an ounce of lavender essential oil for only 2 euro! Later in the trip I wished I had bought more. My sister talked down a hand carved wooden elephant from 30 euro to only 12. She rocks! And I ended up being able to buy a couple Christmas presents while I was there.

We made a short stop at the beach. I have never seen a rocky beach before. I don't understand how laying in the rocks could be even a little comfortable, but the French seem to like it.

Our next stop was lunch at the very top of a mountain. I won't lie, as our bus went round the narrow mountain roads, my heart threatened to jump out of my throat a few times, mostly because I was sitting in the window seat facing the cliff!

Lunch consisted of the most delicious and moist chicken I have ever eaten. They even gave us a slice of ice cream for dessert! It was all very fresh, and I was delighted to go to a small hole in the wall kind of place for some real French food. Sadly I was so hungry I guess I forgot to actually get any pictures of the food.. haha.

Oh brie my love, I could not bring you back with me.
After lunch we headed to Monaco. Did you know its the second smallest and most densely populated country in the world? It is roughly the same size as Central Park in New York City!

The entire country of Monaco

We headed over to a cafe right next to the Monte Carlo Casino, sadly the service was very bad. I guess its because we weren't rich or something, but we had an ice cream voucher, so we were going to get our free ice cream dangit!

We didn't go into the Casino (You had to be in a full suit, no jeans or shorts allowed, so forget that) but we did pass by it and the mall.

We took our ferry back to the cruise ship and ate dinner, then enjoyed some disney trivia (which I won). Overall it was a wonderful trip and I can't wait to visit France again one day.

I hope you enjoyed reading, until next time

-Christine
